Noise Insulation Program

About the WSI Noise Insulation Program

The new 24-hour, curfew-free WSI airport will result in aircraft overflight noise to surrounding residents and communities. The Australian Government has designed the Noise Insulation Program to help address the impacts of aircraft overflight noise to those properties most impacted within the eligibility area.

The program has been informed by feedback gathered through public consultation on the draft Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport – Airspace and flight path design Environmental Impact Statement.

The Noise Insulation Program is now open for applications from landowners inside the program eligibility area.

The program delivers noise treatments, at no cost to landowners, to help reduce aircraft overflight noise experienced inside noise-sensitive habitable areas in existing eligible buildings.

The program is administered by the Australian Government through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts and is delivered by Sydney-based industry specialists, Master Building Solutions.

The program will run for 3 years, and the application period will remain open for 2 years – until April 2028.
